About this ship: Magnifique (2021: Princesse Royal)

As the name implies, the Magnifique is a premium barge which has been fully restyled, refurbished and extended by 14 meters to create a ship in which guests experience the highest possible standards of atmosphere, comfort and personal service. The unique shape of the Magnifique is inherited from the days when it was a sea-going vessel, prior to being bought by owner and skipper Roy can der Veen, whose driving ambition is to offer his guests an unforgettable stay onboard, in line with the ship’s “premium” classification.

The ship has proven incredibly popular on tours that sail through various parts of Belgium and the Netherlands, and sails under Dutch flag and management.

The Magnifique can accommodate up to 35 passengers and has 16 cabins, all located on the lower deck. There are eleven twin cabins (11 m² – 118.5 sq.ft.), four premium twin cabins that include an added sitting area (14 m² – 151 sq.ft.) and one single cabin (7 m² – 75.5 sq.ft.). Both the twin and premium twin cabins have two single beds set next to each other, that can be combined in most cabins to create a double. On prior request, a third bed can be added in some twin cabins as a fold away bunk bed.

The cabins all have en-suite bathrooms fitted with showers, basins and toilets, as well as individual air-conditioning, a ventilation system and central heating. Each cabin has a flat screen satellite TV, hair dryer and mini safe. The portholes are fixed for safety reasons.

The upper deck lounge is tastefully furnished and has air-conditioning, a restaurant, a cozy sitting area, beautiful bar, widescreen TV, large windows through which the light pours in and Wi-Fi. There are two partly-covered, teak-wood sundecks with chairs and tables which make for the perfect spot to have a drink, enjoy the scenery and unwind. The elevated aft deck comes equipped with a barbeque and whirlpool/Jacuzzi to soak in as you watch the sunset over the canals.
